I wasn’t going to include this shot as I don’t think it is anything special. However, there is some symbolism here for me. I’d not long lost my dad and it was hard to immerse myself back in to life, especially as my mum was succumbing more to her terminal illness too. Phil and I had gone away for a short break in our camper van to the Cotswolds and parked up atop a hill with Wales and the Severn Estuary laying below and into the distance. I’d just put in my nightly call to mum to see how she was. Then the sun started setting under the canopy of this tree. Dad loved trees and I guess it was just one of those moments when you stopped still to take it all in; whatever that ‘it’ is.
